The topic was “I Owe Me” the discussion is about Self-Preservation. After typing in the name Samuel Butler, I stumbled on your article from April 2024. I’m an OEF Veteran. (Operation Enduring Freedom/Afghanistan) I know this isn’t by accident or coincident that I’m hearing about you or the Washington Informer. Our Women Veterans organization is PTSD Veterans Village. We would love to hear back from you asap. We read a story out of Washington today and God in his infinite wisdom knew that our paths would cross on this day in history for such a time as this.

Comment on Advocates, Residents Rally to End ‘Torture’ in D.C. Jails by Damian Thorn https://www.washingtoninformer.com/d-c-jail-solitary-confinement-rally/#comment-179940 Thu, 26 Sep 2024 17:49:01 +0000 https://www.washingtoninformer.com/?p=1215331#comment-179940 Eden: Great story, good job. Two things: Please remember that any death, anywhere, in any jurisdiction, of a person is public record, and deaths are overseen by either the coroner’s office or the chief medical examiner’s office. All causes of death, death investigation findings and toxicological test results are PUBLIC RECORD. A corrections department does not have the final authority on an official cause of death. So please call the D.C. coroner/chief medical examiner’s for official causes of death. Secondly, the issue of solitary confinement is a nationwide problem and a D.C. and Baltimore area regional problem. It’s not just only a D C. problem. Other regional and national stories have been written and investigated about this issue.
