Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center researchers Dr. Sophia George and Dr. Matthew Schlumbrecht are leading an ambitious study to address the underrepresentation of Black women in clinical trials for the drug niraparib, with the goal of understanding how women of African ancestry metabolize drugs and expanding access to life-saving treatment.

A meet-and-greet was held at the premiere of "Nollywood Dreams" at Round House Theatre in Bethesda, Maryland. Gbenga Ogunjimi, 41, founder and executive director of the Nigerian Center, is standing second from right in the rear. (Courtesy of the Nigerian Center)
