The “New Standards: Shifting The Narrative” exhibition at Arena Stage in Southwest D.C. features mixed-media works from Terri Lyne Carrington, Cécile McClorin Salvant, Carmen Lundy, Jazzmeia Horn, and other artists exploring the intersection of jazz, gender, race, and innovation.

Nearly $1 million in grants were announced by Maurine Knighton, program director for the arts at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF). The funds have been distributed to several jazz creatives for innovative projects to appeal to diverse audiences. (Courtesy of DDCFF)
